Amanda Carmichael | Dean of Students

Welcome to Clarksville High School! I am excited to begin my third year as Dean of Students and my sixth year at CHS.

One of my favorite things about Clarksville Community Schools is the small school environment. I love that I have had the opportunity to build relationships with our families and know our students by name. While we are a small school we still offer many opportunities for our students.

While I will be primarily housed in the Renaissance building, I look forward to working with all of our high school students throughout the year.  

I am looking forward to our continuous school wide implementation of project based learning that will allow all of our students opportunities to collaborate and work together, which is an essential job skill. 

This will be my 17th year working in education.  I have many different experiences teaching at the elementary, middle and high school levels as well as administrative experience as an assistant athletic director.  I have coached varsity girls basketball for 10 seasons, with the most recent being the past three seasons at CHS.  I have also spent 7 years coaching cross country, 5 of those at CHS. I will continue to coach basketball as well as varsity boys and girls cross country this year.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in 2006 from Brescia University, my Master’s in 2011 from Indiana University Southeast and my Administrative License in 2014 from Indiana State University. I just completed my Ed, S. through Oakland City University and am currently working on finishing my Ed, D.

I have been married to my husband Levi (CHS Athletic Director) for 15 years and we have two children, Evan (17) and Charley (5).

I look forward to working with all of you to have a great 23-24 school year!
