Renaissance Academy is a New Tech Network School – one of just 214 across the nation  – meaning it is centered around a culture that empowers, teaching that engages and technology that enables to ensure students are ready for college and career upon graduation.

The New Tech School model means learners at Renaissance Academy utilize project-based learning and technology to better prepare for the modern workplace. Project based learning puts students in charge of their learning, providing them with opportunities to explore, build and create their experiences as a learner. We also emphasize employability skills that employers have deemed the most important “soft skills” necessary for being a successful employee in the 21st century.

Students at Renaissance Academy will still take some traditional courses, primarily electives, at Clarksville High School. Students may also take dual credit courses through Ivy Tech Sellersburg or Indiana University Southeast. This allows them the opportunity to earn college credits before they graduate high school. We offer tracks that allow students to graduate from high school with one or even two years of college completed that are transferable to any in-state public college. This is completely free for our students! Students may also take technical training through Prosser Career Education Center that can lead to employment upon graduation of high school. These options allow them the ability to create a multi-faceted education that is unique to them.

Renaissance Academy is a public, tuition-free high school open to all Indiana residents in grades 9-12. In fact, 30% of our enrollment is from students that do not reside within our district boundaries. We are typically able to offer smaller class sizes and an overall small school environment. FAMILY TESTIMONIALS

“It’s like a family for my children. They’ve loved every teacher they’ve had or that’s there and they’re excited to be there. I would describe Clarksville schools as a family. That’s really the only way to describe it.”

Ashley Gilmore

Mother of two CES students

“I like the small classrooms, tight-knit community, and more one-on-one attention. Everyone is helpful and helps one another. Both of my boys love it here and my girls did, too”

Christina Ramirez

Mother of current students & graduates

“We have struggled with helping [Charlie] learn how he learns differently and what works best for him and all of the research and doctor visits and therapy all recommended a place that allowed him a place that allowed him to think outside the box. When he came to the open house at Renaissance Academy he said they speak my language here. This feels like home.”

Joni Pearson

Mother of current RA student
