The Clarksville Community Board of School Trustees appointed April Hauber to fill the District 4 seat vacancy during the Board’s special meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 6. The District 4 seat was left vacant by Doug Wacker, who resigned on Tuesday, Aug. 9. The CCSC Board conducted interviews with two candidates, Christie Coleman and April Hauber, and voted 3-1 to appoint April Hauber as the newest member to the Clarksville Community Board of School Trustees.
“I think we had two excellent applicants,” Bill Wilson, CCSC Board President said. “The selection of the board to appoint April Hauber will be very good for the school board and the community. Her heart is with the community and the schools.”
Hauber is a 1988 Graduate of Clarksville High School and actively involved in the Town of Clarksville. Hauber is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville, the current president of the Clarksville Historic Preservation Commission and a member of the Connect Clarksville Board.
Hauber’s daughter and three step-sons are all products of CCSC, with Hauber’s youngest a member of this year’s class of 2017.
“It is an honor to be chosen to serve our students and community,” April Hauber, newly appointed board member, said. “I am optimistic, open minded and up to the challenge. I am excited for this opportunity and look forward to making an impact.”
Welcome, April! #ThinkClarksville
