Clarksville Elementary School held a special school wide assembly on Friday, May 13 celebrating the life of Lauren Owens, a fourth grade CES student who died tragically in a car accident along with her older sister and young nephew.
Administrators, Staff and Students put together a special assembly to celebrate Lauren’s life and honor the memory of Lauren with the Owens Family.
Lauren’s Girl Scout Troop honored her by giving a special flag presentation, The CES cheerleaders celebrated Lauren with a special cheer, and the Student Council presented Lauren’s family with more than $2,000 raised from their Owens Penny War.
Lauren’s memory will live through many things at CES; a special garden planted by the Girl Scouts, a special tree planted by CES and a buddy bench in the playground donated by the CES PTO that will make sure everyone has a buddy, because Lauren was a buddy to everyone.
It truly was a special day celebrating the life of a beautiful, bubbly Lauren Owens, who is missed greatly but remembered daily.
i miss you bestie so much i love you and i miss the times we had together practicing cheer.
I remember the day of the balloon release, I didn’t know Lauren all that well but she somehow knew everyone as if she had spent every waking moment with them, but the 5 Year mark has passed, and someone has to remember. We all miss you, Lauren, some of us only say so subconsciously.
