Clarksville Middle School is the pathway between elementary and high school, helping students transition from children to young adults. Our mission at CMS is to foster a safe, positive, inclusive, and community-focused learning environment where students can grow to be lifelong learners and thinkers. CMS is a place of structure that allows students to express themselves as individuals while learning how to be accountable for their academic and behavioral success.
CMS currently serves the educational needs of more than 400 energetic and eager young people in grades 5-8. We operate on a six-period day with each student assigned to a homeroom teacher who will loop with their homeroom class; working to ensure all students have a strong, trusted relationship with at least one adult within the building.
The academic curriculum at CMS is in accordance with the Indiana Academic Standards. Teachers at CMS work hard to develop engaging, student-centered lessons that meet the various learning needs of all of our students. We are proud to share that for a small school, we offer a big variety of academic opportunities for our students, which includes high school credit courses to all 8th grade students.
In addition to our academic offerings, we offer a variety of extracurricular activities, athletics and clubs, that we encourage our students to join. We offer all the traditional sports (football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, cross county, track, and cheerleading), as well as several clubs, which include Student Council, Goblins & Guild Club, Robotics Club, Art Club, Chess Club, and weekly Campus Life meetings.

I’m proud to be a General and grateful for the continued opportunity to work at CMS with an amazing group of students, staff, families, and community members. I look forward to continuing to build strong and positive partnerships that will not only build upon the long-standing traditions of CMS, but that will also support our students, our staff, and our families as we look toward the future.
