Clarksville Community Schools will host its annual Showcase of Schools on Wednesday, April 13 and Thursday, April 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. During the showcase, each of the district’s schools will provide a series of hands-on classroom experiences, tours, performances and more to showcase learning opportunities. The school district welcomes current and prospective students and their families to attend this two-night event.
“The Showcase of Schools helps parents of current students better understand what goes on inside the classroom, and parents of prospective students decide if Clarksville Community Schools are a good fit for their child,” said Dr. Kimberly Knott, superintendent, Clarksville Community School Corporation. “Our teachers work hard to prepare engaging presentations for students and parents, and we are excited to show off all of the wonderful learning opportunities that Clarksville Schools have to offer.”
The first night of the showcase, April 13, will feature Clarksville High School (800 Dr. Dot Lewis Drive) and Renaissance Academy (806 Eastern Blvd.). Clarksville Elementary (700 Randolph Ave.) and Clarksville Middle School (101 Ettel Lane) will be open the second night, April 14.
Showcase of Schools will provide an interactive learning experience for parents and their children. Families will receive a “passport” at the start of the showcase, and will collect stamps for participating in showcase events throughout the evening. Before they leave, families can present their passport and receive a free T-Shirt! Each completed passport will be in a drawing for some amazing prizes including Beats By Dre headphones, Android Tablets, $50 gift cards, and more!
All showcase events will operate like an open house and guests can come and go during the 5:30-7:30 p.m. time frame and participate in as many activities as they wish.
