Clarksville Community Schools is beyond grateful to have wonderful students, families and faculty members within our community.
For the past five Novembers, with a spirit of thankfulness, the Food Service Staff has shown their appreciation for our students by hosting an annual Thanksgiving meal in each of our four school cafeterias!
Melissa Pixley, Director of Food Services and her staff work tirelessly to prepare special meals and call this meal their “labor of love” to our students.
“The joy we see on our students’ faces and the appreciation they express makes all of the extra effort worth it,” Pixley said. “It is wonderful to see the different reactions to the meal. Some may have never had the chance to experience a traditional Thanksgiving, so we are able to give them a holiday meal with their school friends, free of charge!”
The special Thanksgiving lunch includes turkey, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, stuffing, applesauce and of course, pumpkin pie! For such a special meal, our Food Service Staff even sees to it that the cafeterias are decorated with colorful tablecloths and centerpieces to make it a festive atmosphere!
CCSC is forever grateful for the dedication our Food Service Staff shows to our students each day! Thank you for this special tradition!
